ALMOND MILK

Make almond milk at home with just 4 ingredients. The best flavor and all the nutrients you need to start the day.

Making your own almond milk will bring you incredible satisfaction. Many believe that it is an extremely difficult task and it is actually very easy to make an almond-based drink at home. You only need a blender, almonds, and water.

This Sunday we spent the day preparing everything we would need for our meals for the week. We also decided to add delicious almond milk to the preparation, to enjoy on its own during the week, in smoothies, or to accompany coffee.

OUR RECIPE: ALMOND MILK

On this occasion, we decided to sweeten our almond milk with agave honey and flavor it with vanilla extract. However, you can leave your milk unsweetened and without flavoring if you prefer.

The hardest part of the recipe is removing the shells from the almonds. This will come easily after you've soaked the almonds for 8 hours. You only need to press on each one so that the shell slides on its own.

There is nothing like enjoying homemade foods with natural ingredients that we know where they come from. At home, we also consume vegetable milk that is already processed, but we always try to look for alternatives that are more natural.

Many times we do not have time to devote to our food, but we can make the effort to dedicate an afternoon to planning our weekly menu or even preparing alternatives to dairy such as this delicious almond milk.

We hope this recipe will be useful in your home and that you enjoy it very much. If you liked it, leave us a comment and help us by sharing.

ALMOND MILK

  • Preparation: 35 minutes
  • Cook: 5 minutes
  • Total: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of almonds soaked in water for 8 hours
  • 4 cups of purified water
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. After you've soaked your almonds for 8 hours, remove the shell from each one. You can support yourself with the help of a dry towel.
  2. Since all the almonds have no shells, place them in a blender and add 4 cups of water. Blend very well (approximately 5 minutes).
  3. With the help of a bag to make vegetable milk or fine cloth, filter the mixture separating the fine pieces of almonds that have remained.
  4. Add agave and vanilla for flavor if desired. Refrigerate for up to 7 days.
